I'm back in the well of production on a new animated installation called dawn to dust. Here are just a few images from the various stages of the production. The work explores the architecture of an old shack house that was once inhabited by my paternal family in post war Japan, following the internment of Japanese Canadians from the west coast of B.C. As a process I've been working with interviews with these family members and their drawings from memory of a 'home' they lived in between 1946-1959 when they were the ages of 3-12. The animations and the experience of witnessing these stories are through the eyes of a trusty bird, ghost, snake, mutt, and statue.
