Mejiro! Mejiro! Mejiro! is a limited edition artist book that is an accumulation of over 10 years of stories collected from family members of my paternal family (Mochizuki) including also my grandmother’s history (Takasaki).
From the perspective of a young girl with clairvoyant abilities this collection of stories, take us through familial time, tracing the lives of four generation of Japanese Canadian children who’s lives were impacted by up shifting geographies. Fragmented memories intertwine from pre-war Kyushu, Japan, to the islands of Hawai’i, and finally to the west coast of British Columbia.
